Here at Our Lady & St Joseph Catholic Academy, we believe it is very important for ALL children to have a voice and feel as though their views and opinions count.

In the Autumn Term, each class holds an election to find their class representatives for the school council.

Each councillor has to ensure that the views of all of the children in their class are heard. They collect the ideas and suggestions of the rest of the school in a variety of ways.

The school council meets every half term to talk about any issues that have been put forward by the children in their classes. They particularly focus on how we can continue to improve extra-curricular activities, home learning rewards and the school environment. They also suggest fundraising ideas and help to decide upon the charities which we support each year.
